About Me.

I was born in Aryshire, Scotland however due to my fathers work we moved house regularly throughout my childhood. This taught me to be a brilliant chameleon, I was able to fit in with whatever person / situation was thrown at me. It made me a superb sales person, which I did as a career for over 10 years.

This incredible skill to "fit in" started to feel like a chain around my neck as I reached my 30s, I had a great job, incredible social life, my own place in London however I had this odd sensation that I was living someone else's life.

I left my job, my flat and my friends and moved to Sydney and found my first yogi love, Bikram which started me on the journey of searching for me.

It wasn’t until I was struggling with fertility that I found Kundalini yoga, it was a dark night of the soul.  Lots of hospital visits for fertility treatment, the elation of pregnancy, then the crushing disappointment and shame of miscarriage.  A workshop and a new Kundalini practice helped to calm my mind, allowed me to find a stillness and acceptance I hadn’t ever felt..eventually the babies came.

In 2016 we moved back to the UK from Sydney  and I picked up my Kundalini journey with a weekly practice in Ramsgate. I began to feel grounded like I had never had before,  things started to seem crystal clear, my parenting changed, my social life altered, relationships adjusted. In 2019 I trained to become a Kundalini yoga teacher.

Kundalini yoga is my tool for navigating my life. It has taught me that we can choose how we respond in every minute to every situation.  There is always a silver lining and there is always a shadow too. When we start to live within these polarities we begin to see everything as an opportunity even on the most challenging of days.

In addition to my practice of Kundalini yoga I am also passionate about mental health and wellbeing, I work with the charity Shout as a volunteer, supporting people in crisis.

As  part of my ongoing development I have completed a number of qualifications to support this work.  Including Mental Health first aid in work place, Youth suicide prevention with Mind,  Level 2 Counselling skills and NSPCC online safety course.
